GIS stands for Geographical Information Systems. We are responsible for maintaining and managing map data for the county. Other responsibilities include maintenance of software, training, and data analysis. Some of the data maintained includes:

Mapping
Mapping is the part of GIS responsible for maintaining the parcel (cadastral) data and property ownership maps. There are about 74,000 parcels in Shawnee County.
