State of Kansas v Erion Kirtdoll

Shawnee County District Attorney Mike Kagay announced today that a plea was entered in the case of State of Kansas v. Erion Kirtdoll, Shawnee County District Court Case 18-CR-299. Kirtdoll was charged in relation to a 2018 robbery of Daylight Donuts and the subsequent unrelated homicide of Tyronne Baggett. On February 16, 2018, law enforcement was called to the Daylight Donuts store, 4201 SW 21st Street, at approximately 1:10 AM on a reported robbery. An employee reported that four males entered the store, one brandishing a black and silver handgun, and demanded money. The suspects retrieved money from the cash drawer and fled the scene. Approximately 45 minutes later law enforcement was dispatched to 3500 SE Girard on report of a home invasion. It was reported that four males forced their way into the residence and confronted Tyrone Baggett and a single shot was fired. Upon arrival officers located Baggett suffering from a gunshot wound. Baggett was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of four individuals: Wisdom Jermaine Curls, Dion Jha’Dantaye Troupe, Erion Dijon Kirtdoll, and Eli Anthony Raymond Perry. On today’s date, Kirtdoll entered pleas of guilty to Murder in the Second Degree (Level 2 Felony) and Aggravated Robbery (Level 3 Felony). Pursuant to the plea agreement, the parties will recommend that Kirtdoll serve a controlling sentence of 554 months in prison. Sentencing in this case has been scheduled for 1:30 PM on March 8, 2019. Charges against the three co-defendants are still pending.

Kagay commended the work of Deputy District Attorney Brett Watson for his work in prosecuting this case, as well as the work of the Topeka Police Department in handling the investigation.
