The Mission of the Election Office: To honestly, fairly and according to law administer elections for all voters; and to accurately report the results in a timely manner.
(Please Note: Due to 2014 Legislative changes party affiliation changes can be filed with our office through end of business June 30. On or after July 1, no party affiliation change requests or filings can occur until after the State Canvass of the Primary on or about September 1. Only Unaffiliated voters can choose a party on Primary day, but are not permitted to file or request a change again until party affiliation filing opens on or about September 1, 2014. The voter registration deadline is now the 21st day before any election.
Beginning January 1, 2012 every voter must show photo identification each time they vote. Beginning January 1, 2013, individuals must provide proof of U.S. citizenship when they register to vote for the first time in Kansas.
