H1N1 Flu

H1N1 Clinics The H1N1 clinics will be from 3-7 p.m. on Nov. 12^th, 19^th and December 1^st at the Expocentre.

The clinics for the 12^th and 19^th are directed to people at the following target populations:

Pregnant women
Health care workers with direct patient contact
Caregivers of children 6 months and younger
Children and young adults ages 6-months to 18-years-old

The December 1^st clinic target populations are yet to be determined.

History

Public health efforts began in Topeka in 1866 with the appointment of the city’s first Public Health Officer. By contrast, the police department was not established until 1869 and the fire department until 1870 demonstrating the early and strong emphasis this community has always placed on public health. It is a fundamental service whose purpose is to protect and promote the health of all citizens. The client of the Health Agency is the entire community.
