Date: May 6, 2019

To: SE 29th Street Property Owners

From: Jerry King, Road & Bridge Superintendent, SCPWD

Re: SE 29th Street Mill & Overlay Project (840 feet east SE Croco Road to SE Tecumseh Rd.)

Dear Property Owner:

Shawnee County will be starting an asphalt mill and overlay project for both the east-bound and west-bound lanes of SE 29th Street from SE Croco Road to SE Tecumseh Road beginning Monday, May 13th, 2019 at 7:00 am.

The project will consist of milling two inches of the existing roadway surface followed by the placement of a 2” asphalt mat. One lane will remain open during construction with traffic control consisting of flaggers and a pilot car to permit one lane of travel in alternating directions

At anytime during construction, no more than one intersection along SE 29th within the project limits will be closed. Individual closures will be limited to 30 minutes. During these short-term closures, motorists will need to find alternate routes

Please expect delays and allow yourself plenty of time to get to your destination.

Working hours are anticipated to be from sunrise to sunset. Outside of working hours, the road will be open to unrestricted traffic. The entire project is anticipated to last approximately 7-10 days (weather permitting) with paint striping occurring shortly thereafter.

Ingress / egress to property well be maintained at all times during the project, except during period when construction equipment is operating directly in front of an entrance. Entrance closures will be limited to 30 minutes.

If you have any questions during construction, please feel free to contact me, Jerry King, at 785-806-1559.
